Une partie de cet argent a également été consacrée aux services de sécurité.

Canada has come under fire for a lack of transparency in its immigration detention system and its practice of detaining vulnerable groups, including children and those with mental health conditions. “The lack of independent national and international oversight bodies significantly contributes to the culture of secrecy surrounding the Canadian immigration detention system,” said a report by the Geneva-based Global Detention Project, an international research group that promotes the human rights of migrants in detention.
Two years after arriving in Canada with his parents and three younger siblings, Yasser Al Asmi has mastered English and French and secured the prestigious Roméo LeBlanc scholarship to the University of Moncton, where he’ll study in French as a pre-med student this fall. The scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest grades from an anglophone high school in Atlantic Canada. The award will cover all his tuition fees at the university.
