Canadians have opened up their homes and their pockets thanks to Canada’s pioneering private sponsorship program, which is now being copied by other nations. Canadians’ reputation for generosity toward refugees is well-deserved and well-documented, but the truth is that Canada cannot solve this problem alone.

CBC News – Sask. Town Rallies Around Family Set to Be Deported to Honduras

A small Saskatchewan town is rallying around a family that is set to be deported soon after Canada Day. Russell Slugoski, one of the Moosomin residents who has been helping the family, and others in the community have spent the past year on letter-writing campaigns and gathering nearly 1,000 signatures on a petition arguing for the family to be allowed to stay.
