Fredericton welcomed the most Syrian newcomers per capita of any Canadian city, and New Brunswick welcomed the most Syrians of any other province, according to the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (MCAF).

In January 2016, teachers in Saint John were grappling with an uncertain situation. As dozens of Syrian families and their children arrived in the region, their educational needs weren’t clear. […] Younger students tend to adjust more quickly to the Canadian school system than some of their older peers. […] The challenges are more apparent for the 45 high-school age Syrian students recently arrived in the region. Some new students had been out of school for up to six or seven years before arriving in Canada.
Le Journal de Montréal – Les demandes d’admission d’étudiants américains en hausse au Canada
Le nombre de jeunes Américains désirant étudier au Canada est en forte hausse depuis l’élection de Donald Trump. L’Université McGill a remarqué un bond de 21 % des demandes d’admission en provenance des États-Unis par rapport à l’an dernier. Du côté de l’Université Concordia, la hausse est de 10 % chez les étudiants au premier cycle et de 58 % au deuxième.
