Radio-Canada – La mosquée de Moncton en pleine croissance avec l’arrivée des Syriens

La seule mosquée à Moncton doit encore agrandir ses espaces pour accueillir le flot de réfugiés syriens qui se sont installés en ville récemment. Selon Riaz Akhtar, trésorier de l’Association musulmane de Moncton, la congrégation a doublé au cours des six derniers mois. Environ 200 personnes vont à la mosquée chaque vendredi.

CBC – Afghan-Canadian Group Aims to Bring International Students to Atlantic Canada

A group of Afghan-Canadians in Halifax are fundraising to try to offer a young student from Afghanistan a better quality of education at an Atlantic Canadian university. Neptune Azimi, president of the Canadian Afghan Association of Atlantic Canada, estimates there are about 60 families from Afghanistan in the Halifax area. Edmonton Journal – Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador Take Action to Help Newcomers Get Jobs in Their Fields

Foreign-trained workers in Newfoundland and Labrador will get help to have their foreign credentials recognized, allowing them to get good jobs in their fields, under an agreement signed today between the Honourable MaryAnn Mihychuk, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and the Honourable Gerry Byrne, Newfoundland and Labrador’s Minister of Advanced Education and Skills.
