The first group of Syrian refugees who will make New Brunswick their home arrived in Fredericton Saturday. The flight with 24 refugees landed at the Fredericton airport at 3:30 p.m. Church sponsors and other supporters gathered at the airport to await their arrival.

Canada’s new Liberal government is pushing forward with its pledge to resettle 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of February. McCallum says Canada hopes to settle 35,000 to 50,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2016, with the UN refugee agency, the Jordanian government and the International Organization for Migration assisting with the vetting process.
Un quatrième vol transportant des réfugiés syriens s’est posé vendredi à l’aéroport international Pearson de Toronto avec à son bord plus de 200 personnes. À leur arrivée en sol canadien, les réfugiés ont été accueillis par le gouverneur général David Johnston et des membres de sa famille.

Un comédien acadien et un danseur tchadien proposent un projet d’art social à grande portée dans le contexte de l’intégration des réfugiés dans leur pays d’accueil. Le projet auquel travaillent le comédien acadien Mathieu Chouinard et le danseur-chorégraphe tchadien Taigue Ahmed s’intitule « Pour un oui, pour un nez ».
