At the Armenian Community Centre of Toronto on Wednesday, Angelique Astourian-Kirijian said some landlords are under the impression that privately-sponsored refugees will receive monthly payments from the federal government.

In an extraordinary and significant decision ordering the Toronto man’s release, the tribunal tasked with the 52-year-old’s detention review was critical of Canada Border Services Agency’s policy on deportations to Somalia, calling it “problematic.”
