Un nouveau projet-pilote devrait permettre à environ 1500 demandeurs d’asile d’obtenir un emploi dans le domaine de la santé d’ici trois ans. La ministre québécoise de l’Emploi, Kateri Champagne Jourdain, l’a annoncé lundi lors d’une allocution au Salon de l’emploi des demandeurs d’asile, à Montréal. L’élue espère ainsi faciliter l’embauche de personnel qualifié, le secteur de la santé étant aux prises avec une pénurie importante de main-d’œuvre. Pour être admissibles, les candidats devront détenir un permis de travail valide et un niveau de français intermédiaire.

Ottawa will require foreigners applying to study in Canada to have double the amount of funds currently required, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said Thursday.
He also threatened to cap visas in provinces that don’t help house students or who won’t shut down educational institutions that he argues shouldn’t be operating.

Les délais de traitement pour le regroupement familial viennent de bondir à 41 mois et retardent encore plus les projets de milliers de conjoints qui attendent d’être réunis au Québec. En date du 13 octobre dernier, environ 38 400 dossiers de regroupement familial étaient en attente au Québec. Le gouvernement Legault répète que les délais de traitement relèvent d’Ottawa.
Canada.ca – Canada opens global immigration processing centre in Romania
Today, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced the launch of a new global operations centre in Romania. The new centre is located within the Embassy of Canada in Bucharest and will be supported by 20 new employees, including both Canada-based and locally-engaged staff.
