According to a national survey conducted by Leger for the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), 30 per cent of new Canadians aged 18-34, and 23 per cent of university-educated new Canadians, said they are likely to move to another country in the next two years. While the Canadian adults and new Canadians surveyed both generally believed Canada provided a good quality of life for immigrants, researchers said Canadians were more likely to have a positive outlook on Canada’s prospects for immigrants than the immigrants themselves.

Le gouvernement du Québec précise les mesures mises en place pour accueillir les Ukrainiens qui fuient la guerre dans leur pays. Ces derniers seront notamment dirigés vers un kiosque d’accueil du gouvernement du Québec à leur arrivée à l’aéroport Montréal-Trudeau afin d’établir un contact direct avec eux dès leur arrivée en sol québécois. Les ressortissants ukrainiens pourront bénéficier d’un hébergement temporaire, mais aussi d’une aide pour la recherche d’un logement permanent.

A week after arriving in Poland, a team from Newfoundland and Labrador sent to offer support to Ukrainian refugees says they’re garnering interest from people considering coming to the province. Allison Day, an immigration program development officer with the Department of Immigration, Population Growth and Skills, told CBC News “there’s definitely interest” in what the province is offering. “It is still early, so we will see,” said Day.
Globe and Mail – Ukrainian Canadian Congress Concerned By Lack Of Federal Programs To Support Refugees Fleeing War
Ukrainian community groups and settlement agencies are expressing concern over the lack of federal support and programs in place for Ukrainians escaping the war and hoping to land in Canada. Ukrainian Canadian Congress chief executive officer Ihor Michalchyshyn said in an interview that some who do make it here are unclear where to turn for help. “Our communities are seeing people come and wander airports,” he told The Globe.
