En réunissant les portefeuilles de l’Emploi et de l’Immigration entre les mains du même ministre, la CAQ consolide sa vision favorisant l’immigration économique.

Deux des trois travailleurs mexicains arrivés cette année ont pris la poudre d’escampette, une nuit du week-end dernier. Ils ne sont pas les seuls à quitter leur employeur pour se rendre vers les grands centres dans l’espoir de dénicher un emploi plus payant, mais souvent au noir.

Canada’s immigration minister says he wants to look into the “issue” of discrimination and unconscious bias within the department tasked with triaging and approving immigration requests to Canada. “Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve become aware of this issue, and it’s something that I personally want to look into,” Immigration Minister Sean Fraser told reporters Wednesday as he entered a Liberal caucus meeting.
CTV News – Canada Announces New Immigration ‘Pathway’ for Afghan Interpreters’ Extended Families
Under the new program, extended family members of Afghan interpreters will be eligible for immigration into Canada if they: are an Afghan national; are staying outside of Canada at the time of the application; were in Afghanistan on or after July 22; are a child, grandchild, parent, grandparent or sibling of someone who has already been granted permanent residency in Canada under the previous immigration platforms; can provide a “statutory declaration” from their family member already in Canada; can provide identification; and, filled out the online forms for entry.

Globe and Mail – World Uyghur Congress Urges Canada to Take Refugees, Block Chinese Imports
The head of the World Uyghur Congress is visiting Ottawa this week to ask the Canadian government to step up efforts to block imports of products made with forced labour in China and to create a refugee stream for Uyghur refugees fleeing Beijing’s repression. Dolkun Isa, president of the umbrella organization for exiled Uyghurs, will meet with Immigration Minister Sean Fraser and is hoping to meet with other decisionmakers during his stay in the nation’s capital, which will include a rally on Parliament Hill with MPs and senators from all major political parties.
